In addition to the above, we go into the latest Health and Safety requirements and the Risk Assessment process.
This is essential knowledge for employers or the self employed.
In practice, we spend the first day on health and safety and saw maintenance, and the second day finishing the maintenance and carrying out a practical cross-cutting exercise.
The last three days are spend entirely in the woods practising and perfecting basic felling techniques. If trainees have any specific chainsawing applications, these can be discussed and practised if time allows.
What you need to bring
Day 1 : A packed lunch, practical clothes, steel toe-capped boots, chainsaw (can be hired).
Days 2-5 : A packed lunch, chainsaw, fuel and safety gear (can be hired), plenty of water, fly repellent and sun cream if required.
