Home use for cutting firewood, hedge-laying, ground-work not including any felling

Lantra 2 day chainsaw course in maintenance and cross-cutting
Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) Course (valid for 5 years)

Our price: £200 + VAT per person for a 2 day course

 

 

Coppicing and felling small trees up to 8 inches in diameter

Lantra 4 day chainsaw course in maintenance, cross-cutting and felling trees up to 8" in diameter

Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) Course (valid for 5 years)

Our price: £380 + VAT per person for a 4 day course

 

 

Felling trees up to 15" in diameter and any work for the Forestry Commission

Lantra 5 day chainsaw course in maintenance, cross-cutting and felling trees up to 15" in diameter

Training Only Course (certificate of attendance only).

Our price: £450 + VAT per person for a 5 day course

 

 

This course needs to be followed up by

NPTC assessments in:

CS30 Chainsaw cross-cutting and maintenance (valid for life)

CS31 Chainsaw felling trees up to 15" diameter (valid for life)

 

NPTC assessments are valid for life, but evidence needs to be provided of continual updating of skills at roughly 3 yearly intervals.

NPTC assessments are must be carried out by an assessor who has had no part in training the candidate.

 


 

We arrange our assessments through Mid Wales and the Marches Assessment Centre www.mwmac.co.uk and normally the assessment can be carried out at the same site as the training course.

These are the basic chainsaw courses. Environment Skills Training delivers more advanced chainsaw training on application.

The next levels are:

 

Felling Medium trees (15" to 30" diameter), includes use of felling wedges and winches

 

Felling Large trees (over 30" diameter)

 

Felling Individual Windblown trees

 

Felling Multiple Windblown trees

 

Pruning using a Pole Saw

 

Tree climbing and aerial rescue using ropes (basic tree-surgery unit)

 

Use of chainsaw in a tree (basic tree-surgery unit)
